Koyasan

 Koyasan is a world heritage in Wakayama. 1,200 years will have passed since Kukai made Koyasan as a sacred place of esoteric Buddhism on 2014.
 I went to there on 24th January with Karin. It was first time for me. There were much snow there and it was too cold... but there were few people because most shop had a regular holiday on Monday :P I thought Koyasan is in only a mountain but that is also a place people live. These places are tourism spots like Yuasa.
 We went to Okunoin. It was so quiet. We could hear only the sound of our footsteps on the snow. My foreigner friends told me, "Koyasan is the best place in Wakayama." and I could understand what they meant. I want to go there again but except Monday!!!

BenjaMinami

 I have a French boyfriend, his name is Benjamin. My life with him is InterCultural Communication for me! lol So I'd like to talk about a part of our life.
 How do you think about have a relationship with foreigner? Your answer will be "It's totally diffrent if I have relationship with Japanese." , won't you? Of course we have many problems such as differences of culture, language and way of thinking. I sometimes quarrel with him. Then we try to understand each other to make up. I think this is the most important thing in ICC. It's impossible to understand all French culture and his ideas but Ben told me, "We can discuss each other and talking is the best way to solve our problems." Thanks to him, I have found a part of French culture recently. I'll keep our relationship even if we have long distance :)

the Coming-of-Age Day

 20 year-old is a special age for Japanese. We are allowed drinking alcohol and smoking so it means we are an adult. The ceremony held on 9th January in my hometown.
 I woke up at 5:30 am to go to salon. Then, I had my hair set, put on makeup and kinomo. Girls must be very busy on that day :P
 After that, I took part in the ceremony. I saw my old friends. Our looks had changed but our personality had never changed :D It was great to see them again.
 In this day, we opened 2 time capsules and I received a letter from me since 5 years. I wrote such as my memories, my love and my dream...I felt I has grown as a person.

 Thanks to my family and my friends, I reached that day. I realized that I was brought up in a good environment. They raise me up :)

the GUESTs from English speaking countries

 In ICC class, we had guests from Australia and USA.

 An Australian professor gave a presentation to us about "Intermarriage". The rate of intermarrige is increasing recently in Japan. (『ダーリンは外国人』 is popular among Japanese women. ) When we communicate with foreigner, sometimes we have problems...and education for their children is the most important point for them. Anyway I'm 20 years old so I don't think about my marrige now :P

 Australian and American students's visiting in our class was great experience for me! I usualy communicated with exchange students so they already know about Japan. However most of them didn't know that. So I tried to show them a part of Japanese culture. After the class, I took them to my class of tea ceremony and tried to tell them " What is Sado". It was hard for me to tell them in English but they tried to hear me. When they understood what I mean, I was really happy :)

 My dream is introducing Japanese culture to all over the world. Thanks to Kumi sensei, I got some good opportunities to make that come true...Step by Step!!!

International Youth Exchange from Southeast Asia

 About 30 Southeast Asian people had came to Wakayama from 28th to 31st October. They were from Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippins, Singapore and Vietnam.

 We made welcome party on 28th and did a game that introdced ourselves each other such as the name, hobbies, favorite Japanese food. They looked so fun :)

 On 29th, we hosted them at Wakayama uni.

 We took part in the class of "世界の日本語" on Friday 1st period. In this class, Southeast Asian people gave presentations to us about their own countries. They showed us many pictures, tourism video and their traditional dance!!! Each country has different type choreography. I really loved it!!! because Japanese students joined that dance and smiled together. Even if we can't speak same language, we had fun together :D

 In the afternoon, they had classes of tea ceremony and Japanese archery. I tought them how to make a tea. They were very interested in Japanese culture. I'm happy when I tell Japanese culture to foreigner and they tell me their culture...THIS IS InterCulturalCommunication!!! I think ;)

I stayed with them only 2 days but it was great experience for me...

I want to travel around Asia to see them someday...
